I finally got my new carry gun in awhile back, I've been trying to get one for months with no success. Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm. I have the full size M&P 9 and a Springfield XD 45 Tactical, but neither of them were want I wanted in a carry gun. If any of you are looking for one, take a hard look at the Shield, I absolutely love mine!

I might take a look. I just bought a Ruger LCP .380 to keep with me while on the road. I've got a S&W Sigma .40 that I like to shoot but a little big to carry all the time in my situation .

I love my Springfield XD .45, but I have the full size, it is my sidearm I carry on duty at the PD. Off duty I carry a S@W .38 chief's special model 60 (I think that is the rite model #) revolver, very light and compact. Is only a 5 shot but confident it is enough to get me out of a tricky situation.

I was thinking of getting the wife a S&W body guard. Anyone have any experience with one of these?

I have shot them a few times, liked them but I liked the lcp a little better.  I am getting my sis a lcp I think.

I have a Ruger LCP and a Taurus TCP to carry.  I don't really enjoy shooting either one, but they're small enough I can take them anywhere (even on my motorcycle).  Much prefer to shoot my Glock 17 or Ruger Mark II for fun.

I would suggest the Ruger LCR for a female, just much fewer problems and jams due to weak wrist with a semi. Their 38 special is a sweet little gun.

The Sig Sauer P238 is a neat little pistol.  When comparing the Ruger LCP and the Sig, the Sig just came up naturally on target for me and felt more substantial for a little utensil where the LCP was pointing up over the target and felt like plastic.  Really need to feel them before buying.  The Sig is kind of fun to shoot but does have some snappy recoil due to lack of mass compared to my larger semi-autos.  The Sig is way more expensive but I thought it was worth it.

Back home which is Iowa and just so everyone knows I hate Illinois and usually never claim I live across the river lol but I have an itty bitty .22 I love it. It is about the size of my hand. My Dad was a cop growing up so we have quite the collection of guns in the house.
