Quantcast Congrats to the "Savaged" family!
We have a lot of Steer Planet Members spread throughout the midwest, a great way to help those affected by the tornado is to text REDCROSS to 90999 ($10)
This provides a $10 donation directly to the Red Cross, a great organization that does make an actual difference (their administration costs are less than 5% of the money they raise).

Congrats to the "Savaged" family!

A big  (thumbsup) tonight for our very own Savaged. The Savage family pulled off the win tonight in Highland County beating out approx 100 other steers with the homegrown Monopoly Money calf! Easily the stoutest calf in the field tonight.

The livestock (show) industry is a tough one- if you've never had anything worth a damn you might as well go on the internet and rundown everybody you can.

Thanks Zach - it was good to see you again.  Sorry we did not have more time to talk, but it looked like your heifer did pretty darn good too!

I really appreciate the post, and thanks to all those on Steer Planet whom I've relied on for information and education as I have worked to develop my little operation.  It sure is nice to breed and raise one that wins once in a while.

A special thanks to Riley Laber (formerly of Bushy Park) for his awesome clipping and fitting for the open show.  He also richly advised our daughter on show techniques.  Could not have done it without him.

FYI, the dam is a P.B. Dream On cow.   I posted baby pics of this guy back in March.

No worries man. I seen you guys were "in the zone" working on your heifer and I know how it is. Are you feeding those calves miracle grow or something because I'm pretty sure both of your calves were the hairiest ones I saw (I know the steer was atleast )

Cool room and of course a whole bunch of brush work.   These were also pretty hairy calves at birth.

Congrats!
Didn't make it to the show but heard the calf is very impressive.
For those that don't know, this is ONE of the big ones when comes to open shows in Ohio.
Nice Job <beer>
