cool old pic

found a really cool old pic taken in 1952 celebrating the opening of the Denver Coliseum. The pic show the top entries of the Best of Ten Hereford class.

It looks like the only two polled animals were outcasts.

At first glance I thought all of them were laying down til I looked at the date and enlarged the pic.

At our neighboring county fair they were celebrating there 100th anniversary. They had a picture of the grand and reserve champion steers starting in 1943 all the way through 2009. It was really cool to flip the page and go from a short butterball hereford to a simangus with more leg than body. Shows you just how much cattle styles have changed.
