we need to do AI, dehorning, and loading in this spot.
we dont have alot of money to work with and we can do it all ourselves as far as building goes. we can weld stuff.

would like to keep it as simple as possible.

any particular shapes and dimensions that you would recomend

Make sure your alleyway from the tub, or crowding pen, goes in a curve rather than a straight line. Cattle will move through quicker and spook less.

Build an alleyway, about 15-20 long (maybe longer?).  I'd use the wall of a barn as one side, or atleast border the alleyway up against the wall.  Take a 16' gate attach it to the end of the alleyway. Make sure the gate can swing into the wall, so its like a tub.  With 15 cows, I wouldn't worry about the alleyway being straight.  Have the end of the alleyway Y off into either a chute  or  loading, or make it so your chute can be easily unhooked.

Go to www.grandin.com and you can see lots of designs by Temple Grandin there.  She's the top expert for animal handling facilities, among other things.  I used many of her principles when designing mine for the handful of cows I had, both in Wyoming and Michigan.
