Attached is a few pictures of an Angus cow that I am going to be A.I. ing shortly she calved a couple of days before this pick. She is not registered. I have asked in an earlier post about Angus sires. I am  not opposed to other breeds as well. She has had 3 bull calves 2 limmi influence and one Angus sire all were 70 lbs. or less so no problems. I am looking to improve anything that might appear to be needed. No top pictures of her but she could be wider across the top and maternal improvements would be a plus. As always thanks for any opinions. I know she is not a show winner but like to try to continue to head in that direction.

I would breed her to yellow jacket (a kris black bull) he adds bone muscle an a cool smokey color.

Are you looking for show calves? If you want to work on a maternal herd then look at OCC bulls or a Simmi influence sire. If you are shooting for steers the hot sire is Heat Wave. Once you have a defined goal in mind then you can narrow down the sires.

OCC bulls don't have alot of milk.  Use a simmental bull like Star Power or Angus bulls like Networth, Brilliance, Northern Improvement.

To answer the OH Breeder reply I am not as concerned about show steers. I prefer to get improved heifers. I don't have a lot of cows so I am looking to have some heifers worth keeping. Even with the heifers at this point if they were shown it more than likely would not be above a county level as my daughter has just started showing her Hereford heifer this year. She has some years ahead of her to still be able to show at a higher level. I want to make sure she can walk before she runs in the show ring. Thanks forthe suggestions and keep them coming please.

Since you are aiming for replacement heifers, I would go with a simmental bull like Macho or Trademark.  The OCC Angus bulls are great on big exotic cows but would down size your angus cow too much.

Few years back we bought a WMW cow that originated out west. We took her from 500 acres and put her on 5. If u looked at her she ran. We bred her to 3CMacho. The calf was an absolute teddy bear. 8yr old showed the heifer calf and she is one of sweetest and easiest heifers to work. Macho won't giuve u to of bone but they will be pretty. Not a lot of hair but I woould sacrifice both for what we got. If u are feelin rich u can always use his daddy 734. Great base to start club mommmas. One of better show steers this year is a HW x Meyer/angus cow. JMO aint much.

How big was the heifer? This is a cow but all of her calves have been small to this point. Just prefer to err on the safe side. I know she is not a show winner but she has been a champ at breeding back quickly and consistently. I would hate to loose her for that reason. I definitely like the fact that the temperament is great. We just watched  our county show and some of the nicer heifers did not place as well because they could not be judged properly due to bad tempers.

I was worried at first because the WMW cow is a frame 4 but as wide as a truck. She was 78#'s actual. Never had a bit of trouble. I was also worried about temperment. You could not ask for a better female. I have been impressed with other Macho calves I have acrossed.  I don't think you would be disappointed.
Someone mentioned Ebony's Trademark. I saw him when he showed at the Ohio State Fair. Very pretty made bull. He was adequate muscled but didn't seem to be massive like some of the other simmi's. I thought he would be a great female bull to make fancy heifers.
