Cowboy modestly buried this in another topic...
Lets fill that donor pen!
", it has been a very hard and long year now since I almost died, and I haven't felt the best. Now, I just need to look out of the window and see the donor pen FULL like it used to be, it sucks to be empty!! Cheers to all, Terry"

O M G, what have I done!! I certainly hope no one thought I was panning for handouts, I tend to blab a little to much at times. Yup, I have been out of circulation for over a year, ever since last June 19. One of my favorite old cows was due to flush the very next day, I called her Queenie from my good friends up at HF Chars. As I layed in the hospital bed the next morning, she was all I could think of. The owners were called, and of course he said don't worry about that darn cow, but I did. A couple others were due on Tuesday and Thursday, luckily the folks in Oklahoma were able to come get them in time. They both had successful flushes there, after being crammed in some ones schedule.

I fully intended to do more to keep in touch with you all. My dear friend Road Warrior tried to keep you updated some, time just ticked by with never ending doctor appointments and of course, constant worry about how we would ever pay the bills. The ranch we run did have workers comp ins, and we were accepted as a viable claim, so thank God, all my medical bills were paid in full. Now, what is going to make me feel good again (After receiving permanent disability status from hoards of doctors) is to be able to look out and actually have something worthwhile to do -- namely my love of doing ET with some of the great cows any where. I am not the same, never will be, but the hand still works great, the mind - well - some say I never had one to begin with, and the older body has a good excuse to be last getting things done.

I miss you all, I feel bad I did not do a better job of keeping you updated, but I felt just felt like I would be a bother. We need to get back to feeling important, so ya, load the semis and get em coming. I have a wonderful small banker that I know will loan us the bucks to start over if need be, all I need to do is have something to get me out of bed earlier in the morning, a guy can get LAZY sitting around.

Love you all, cheers and thanks SOOO much Librarian, I am humbled! Best to all -- Terry

Cowboy- A post like that doesn't come from someone who has troubles with what's above their shoulders. I don't know you nor have ever met you but your posts on here have been valuable to both the veterans of the cattle industry and the newcomers. I know it is easier said than done but keep that head up. You have a whole lot more good left to give. Someday I hope to meet you as well as many of the people who post on here. Until then keep that knowledge coming.

Thanks,
Bill

...there you go being modest again.
I've learned more about understanding the invisible factors behind conception with cows from your posts than anywhere else. Really being able to read cattle and having the patience and experience to get the best results with individual cows is more than a skill- its a gift. That's not something that can be replaced and if you're ready to go back to work I'm sure there are a lot of folks that have just been waiting to hear those words so they bring the cows back.

Wow, you guys are awesome. I truly did not realize over the years that I had an impact on folks. I just talk cows and love it. They have taught me more than any class room could ever do. Patience, and a lot of time, is worth more than can be estimated. I always have thought possible I came out human instead of the intended Bovine. Probly a good thing, us humans outlive our friends by decades.

Yes, even tho it will probably hurt most of the time, I can't wait to see a good group of cows to take care of again. I miss it, I will have to lay in feed and supplies from -0-, but all that takes is a couple phone calls, and a friendly banker. I have always kind of enjoyed the challenge of trying to work with problem donors. They don't make us much to live on, but they fill the heart with joy when they start making good embryos again. Trust me, even after all these years, sitting down behind the microscope is a real thrill, I can hardly wait to see the first good embryo. Yippee. Not trying to advertise here, but it is a lot of fun for me.

Thanks again, I am humbled. Terry
