Last week we synchronized for AI and am curious what y'all do on here for those that didn't respond.

I used CIDRs on my heifers and got 14/16, 2 more to go.

I used Select Synch on cows and got about 60% to respond.

Usually for non-responders we'll watch for natural heats and then give a shot of PG 11 days later, but I'm always looking for a better way to do things.

Heifers - we use either MGA & Lutalyse or the 2 shot protocol.    When we do the MGA, we follow up on the non-responders with a 2nd shot.    When we use the 2 shot synch, we either sale barn the non responders  or turn them out with the clean up bull - depending on pasture space.  Occasionally, we'll try to induce heat again with another shot or CIDR protocol - but at our place, that heifer would have to be pretty special to continue to mess with.

Cows - We use CIDRs to synch cows & that has been the most successful for us.    We normally kick the nonresponders out of the group & run them with the bull.  We try to maintain a pretty tight calving season so we don't spend a lot of extra time with cows that don't fit the program.
