What kind of cows are you going to breed to and what are you trying to accomplish?  Production, show, maternal, terminal?  There are good bulls for every purpose.

Just looking for feedback on current and the next best black Angus sire.

Good question.

Pedigrees that are truly outcross with good performance and function will always be in high demand. Angus seedstock producers are a savy bunch of cow people. I hope they will chime in.

Genetics appear tight with those outstanding cattle having showring appeal. Most of the pedigrees of the champions at the NAILE seemed to be formulated and closely related. Some seed stock are looking almost "clubby", IMO.

Bred  onto angus cows...moderate framed, good producing cows....out cross pedigree to anything that is out there. Potentially keep back in herd or market at consignment sales.

Now I'm intrigued to know what the angus seed stock guys have for "outcross" pedigrees (or are considering out cross). Our angus herd has pedigrees that are a rare find in Canada....

I really like the Peak Dot angus herd.. I feel they are the kind.... Peak dot predominant is my favorite bull of any breed to look at. Duff encore is a really good looking deep and thick made bull

The Peak Dot sale catalog is very impressive. SAV Predominant is truly one of the super breeding bulls out there. Never have seen a sire group that is this impressive. Not too many bad ones by him. His daughter are making nice cows that produce as well.
