My steer has amazing hair on him, its trained pretty well and i want to keep it that way, I was wondering how long you guys usually work with your steers hair to keep it growing and trained, for washing, and brushing hair it takes me about 2 - 2 1/2 hours. Should I be doing it longer? and i was looking for opinions on how to get front leg hair to grow and trained?, right now after i wet the steer down i blow the front leg hair up for a minute or so to get most of the water off, i then use the roto fluffer on it for 10 minutes straight up, then i comb it up for about 10 minutes. Thanks for any help

It sounds like you're doing a pretty good job, I like to work the hair at least that long if I can...right now we're in corn harvest, so my brother has to do most of the work, but brushing and blowing and combing is the key.  Front leg hair is the hardest for me to grow.  That Roto brush is a lifesaver, I use it when they're wet and also completely dry.  You can't brush em too much  O0

I rinse each of mine and put them under the fans and as soon as I get one combed out, I get another. When I'm done rinsing them all, I go back and blow them out in the same order they got blown out...cuts down on time getting water out of the hair, and leaving some water in the hair for a short amount of time keeps them cooler.
