How well do calves do that kinda look like dairy cows in their color. Do they just get thrown to the bottom do some judges like and others hate do they stand out and look stouter because they stand out?

I think it used to be the case that if it wasn't black the judge wouldn't even look at it. However, I am seeing more and more that good steers get to the top regardless of color.
