I have noticed that shorthorn cattle can have dark colored hooves...and some of them are almost light whiteish hooves. A foot trimmer brought it to my attention. Like in horses..aren't dark hooves supposed to be better then light colored hooves?

aj - how are ya? we got the proofs of the article so they have been corrected and I should be able to get you a copy soon!

Dark hooves, like cowboys in black hats, signify evil.

White hooves, like cowboys in white hats mean good.

I think that covers it  ;)
actually I think there is some thought maybe backed up by science, maybe not, that darker hooves are harder/more durable - I don't think that is true of black hats vs white
