I was just wondering if anyone has had any Deadliest Catch calves on the ground, and if you do how do they seem? I would love to see some pictures of them, because I haven't seen any out of him yet.

There have been 2 posted on Wade Rodgers blog I think and maybe one of them was also posted on here in February.

I will have to check RCC and see those. I have high hopes for him, but stuck with WA and BIM last year. Hopefully more calves start coming or people post more pics so we can start to see results.

Nice looking calves! I'm a little surprised they aren't baldies. Do you know are the cows straight black? Thanks for sharing the pics!

Both cows are black, and totally different types. The muckle face calf is on a larger framed, flatter made 2nd calf heifer. Dc really changed her in terms of thickness and bone. The other calf is out of a moderate framed maternal made cow with killer rib shape/middle. Calf is actually brendle. I have to say I was breeding for heifers and got bulls but are sellable 4h steers.

They come easy and lively? DC made me a little nervous like all club calf bulls because he seemed to have an extra short stocky frame. When I saw him earlier this year at Wades' he was shorter than BIM.

Ours came ok, no hard pulls or anything like that but had bigger bw's than anticipated. But we feed the hell out of our cows. Don't have a lot of pasture ground so good hay and silage is what they get. From the two calves we have, I'd breed dc to longer fronted cows needing powered up. Feet, legs, bone and hair don't seem to be an issue.

How do you think he compares to any of your other calves? I keep having trouble breeding DC just because WA and BIM are so proven and available.

What breeding on the dams side does everybody think will work with DC? What do you think of outer limits on the dam side for DC?
