Not sure how familiar you are with Braunvieh, but I heard there is going to be a few cool looking Braunvieh bulls out in Denver this year.

This is a bull I was going to display in Denver, but due to uncontrollable circumstances, I will not be able to.  He is a Monopoly/Full Flush/Cunia owned by myself, Mike Slover and Griswold Cattle Company.

I agree he looks nice.

I am looking for monopoly sons that are th/pha free to breed to carriers.

Got video and test info?  I would post it somewhere or send to cattle.com and see if he would post it.

The tests have been done and he is Th positive, and Pha Clean.  Though we would all love for them to be clean, the reality is that the demand is much higher for that result than completely clean.  Not saying I agree with it, but that is the reality.  Most believe that the Th carriers are stouter, thicker and hairier, which it is obvious they are and most people would rather have it at this time and breed around it.  I am not necessarily carrying that flag, but the reality of it is that this bull is that, a Th positive, Pha clean test came back.

We do have a video of him, shot the same day as this picture.  I want to get a new video shot as this time of the year, a month of maturity makes them look so much better.  This bull is out of a tremendous cow that originated from Griswolds.  I have not seen her, but John assured me she was really good, moderate for a Flush.  This bull was raised near the Texas border and he obviously had not even started hairing up when this picture was taken the first of November, much earlier than all of the others.

Due to the fact that this bull is not going to get to go to Denver, he is going straight to the stud to start getting his CSS work done.  There are two of the major semen distibutors that want to work with him now, and in order for them to be able to do that, you have to get the CSS work out of the way and that takes about 45 days, so we are going to try to get ahead of the other bulls on the major marketing.  Unsub was taken to Interglobe ten days ago just to test him.  He jumped immediately and they said the semen was very promising, good quality and clean but he was just not mature enough at the time for it to freeze.  They felt like by the time he was ten to eleven months he would freeze though.  At least maybe that is wishful thinking.  The decision was simply based when we could not get our display pen in Denver, that it was more important to get semen out of him.  Videos will be posted as soon as we get a new one.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks

Mark
