Yesterday I went to a district FFA convention/banquet that I was invited to attend. I had tons of fun we voted on candidates that gave their speeches why they should be our district officer. Well one girl got up there gave a alright speech then got her thought question which was " If you could meet up with president Obama what would you tell him about the FFA?" She replied this.. She started off very unsure of what to say gave us some history about the FFA and how the organization was awesome.. She said Id tell Obama that the FFA knows how to make change unlike him, Id tell him to take his change and keep it. And walked off the stage. Ill tell you the silence that fell among that room was like no other, the amount of mouths wide open and the looks where just like oh my gosh she did not just say that! All though we all knew it was totally true just took alot of guts to get up in front of 125 people and say that! Our district president at the podium was shocked he couldnt even talk after that. But get this she was voted in and now a officer for our district!  (clapping) All together it was a great experience but tiring!

does she have a lethal defect?
ban her from the registration of the US.
diversity will not be tolerated.
these lethal defects must not be allowed to propagate.

Uh, not that funny.  My kid wouldn't like me when they got home - I don't care if they were talking about my worst enemy.  There's a time and a place, and that isn't one of them.  She was just repeating what she heard adults say.  Is a teenager really qualified to take those kind of potshots at an elected leader in that kind of a public forum.  If she did, would that really be advancing the cause of agriculture or FFA?  I suspect he wouldn't think funding that program would make a whole lot of sense anymore if it showcases kids with that kind of arrogance.

We didn't put up with people badmouthing Bush (see Dixie Chicks) and we shouldn't be doing it to Obama now.  He is our president and if nothing else, FFA and 4-H teaches kids respect for our leaders.  And I guarantee you she wouldn't have the nerve to say that to our presidents face.

ITA. I may not be thrilled about him being our President but that doesn't mean I should be disrespectful.

seems obama does the same thing making comments about clinging to their religion and guns and a growing list of other comments that i find disrespectful.

he does the same thing when he travels and badmouths the US.

i reserve the right to be as disrespectful as obama's example.

what's next, thought police?  oh, we already have that.

other than the dixie chicks, i'm thinking the list is pretty short who got "in trouble" for bad mouthing bush.

the media pretty much made it an industry and are doing the opposite right now by glorifying obama right now.

sounds like a homeland security vote threat assessment to keep obama and the democrats iin office for 8 years.

Maybe so, but FFA kids are taught to be better than that.  Not too many are chasing careers as journalists.  And when an FFA kid is elected president, I hope they are a lot classier than todays politicians.

I didnt get upset, I just hope all of the other kids - especially you because I can tell you are extremely sharp - don't think that was a good example to follow.  If you are going to be a real leader, you have to take the high road.  And you will have to learn to work with people you dont like or agree with.  To be succesful in business or politics, you have to get people that you dont like and people that dont agree with you to do what you want them to.  And you have to get your superiors to do what you want and support you.  Speeches like dont ever work in the real world.

the RIGHT to be able to speak out against our leaders is what has made America what it is.

There's nothing wrong with her giving her opinion, but I definitely agree that this wasn't the time or place. Her job as an FFA Officer is not to spread her opinions, but to represent the FFA in a positive, respectful manner.

However, I find it hard to respect a president who accepted a GIFT aka a book about how awful America is from one of the most hateful dictators in the world.

Correction: To be successful in politics you have to be a good liar. Although Nancy Pelosi isn't doing such a good job of that at the moment. LOL

Ya that was really a gutsy thing to do. I ran against her and my response was that Obama should have been in FFA when he was in Highschool and that he should know how we are making a change. My entire speech was about diversity in the FFA and how we can all come together and work as a team. That is really sad that she said that. She got secratary by the way. Don't get me wrong she was nice. I didnt even get an office. I was really upset, I guess god has something else for me. :)

She said what needed to be said.  I can't believe that this girl is getting criticized for speaking the truth.  Call a spade a spade. kudos to whoever she is.

If you had actually gotten to make your speech to Obama or any other president, you might have actually done some good.  At the very least you would have made a great impression on him regarding both yourself and FFA.  Sorry you didn't get elected - its tough to lose now matter how it happened.  Keep on trying!  You'll get there.

When Axelrod was asked if he had weighed in on the Obama family’s dog choice, "the Rasputin in this kingdom" (as Sagal jokingly refered to him) sassed back, “I was only called in for the final three, and one was Miss California.”

here's my ffa question for president obama, why don't you fire mr. axelrod?

i would have liked to see patrick henry answer that question (the ffa question).
