Okay, not the best pictures, but was wondering what you think of my daughters steer.  He is currently 925lb.  Feeding 8lb of Honor Show Chow 2x a day, 1/2lb of Vita firm 2x a day, and 1 bale of clover hay a day.  He is growing good, I think.  Our fair is the last week of July and he has to be between 900 and 1500 by then, Ideally 1350.  Any suggestions would be appreiciated.

I would up his feed to about 2.5% of his body weight. It is always good to have a target weight but remember that it has to fit that animal. You want to take him in at the weight that he looks best at. Vitaferm is awesome! I love it works wonders! I would also put him on a supplement like winners edge or a final secret vitamin and mineral powder. Do you show with hair or is it a slick show? Because IMO he looks like he could use a little bit more bone mass in his legs. For me, in this steer I favor his gut he look like he can take in a lot of feed and carry a lot of product over the ribs.  Keep us updated and post new pictures in a couple months! Good luck!

I would try to clean up his front end and up his feed a little.  What is his exercise program you have for him and how often do you work his hair.

You all relize that he is an American crossbred steer right? They're going to carry some skin regardless of what you do. As far as his weight is concerned, he'll make market weight easily. There are a bunch of 6 and 7 weight cattle right now that will weigh in the 12 to 1300 lbs area come next July.

According to the posters location they are in Pa, so I highly doubt they even have an american class so it doesn't really matter.

Well if he is gonna be in with the exotics I would also reccomend a sweat collar...or hold his head up really hi ;)
You can't sweat that much out of a calf. For what he is, not a bad steer, but he could use a lot of cleaning up across the board.
