I have a heifer we bred to Sull Fedex, but I have not been able to find any pictures of his calves. I was wondering if anybody had some they could post. Thanks

I had a heifer calf out of Fedex march 15 out of my heifer. attached is a picture. She weighed 110lbs. We had to pull her, she layed there for about 4 hours before she could get up and started nursing.

Her mamma is the red and white cow in the background, shes all white except tips of ears and nose. Shes got a wide top, decent muscled getting better as she is growing, not too square but mom could be to blame there. I'd like to have her a little deeper but she might mature with depth. her back left leg seems to be bowed a little but dont know how or what happened there.

also is a pic of her mamma, sorry for the poor pic

If you are referring to me: I can afford a Solution son-in fact Ive got Final Solution posted for sale at roughly $26 per straw-I have also been involved with the following National or Louisville Champions- Deertrail Awesome, UB MadMax,Echodale TopDraft,Deertrail T- Bone,Studley, Proud Augustus, LGS Lawrence Jackson,Abertees Awesome and a couple bulls that have proven usefull, and or have had daughters stand in at least second place or above at a national or national Jr Show- UB DTR Junior Walker, and one thats up and coming-with LEGITIMATE calving ease-UB DMCC Top Fuel.Niot all were calving ease-but we didnt BS anybody about it.There are various theories about the almost 0 BW EPDS on Solution-and even an in-effectual Secretary had to do something about that MADE OVER MYTH-but not before some calvings went terribly wrong. You are right-I cant afford to pay the vet bills or see animals suffer.Although the most females Ive had is ten-there have also been a few all American show hiefers and are starting to be some shorthorn plusses that have done OK-like DTR Tafetta last year-who was second only to the top Sullivan plus hiefer in points-I bred half the pedigree.I didnt have a son of Solution at the 2004 Denver show-I did have the National Spring Calf Champion -however-and if Im not mistaken-HD BLOODSTONE was third in his class-and K-Kim Callahan was second-but Im more concerned with live calves-and alot of the ones in Southern Kansas out of some of my breeding may or may not have someone to help. Mr Tenenbaum speaks the truth. Maybe you should think before you speak. You're not fooling anybody on here. Stating he couldn't afford a solution son is ridiculous. I wouldn't give a squirt of piss for anything out of solution. But that's just me. Maybe with your deep pockets you can buy another bull to fix all the things that need fixed using a solution son. Unless you're so loaded you don't care about a feed bill. If so, feeds hides a lot of flaws.

This is a perfect example of the divide in this breed. A heifer having a 115 lb calf. Took four hours to get up. Come on folks. Come on. /// Thanks Trevor-the worst thing are the ones that you dont know about. Unfortunately-the so-called elite genetics are becoming more available lately due to supply and demand-Next are the usefull(and somewhat showy) cattle from Kieth Lauer, the LTD Edition deals (FHf Countess,Red Reward etc) and although many of them are also syndicated to the "thousands of lucky Shorthorn Breeders"-some of that blood may come available through attrition like Sull Payday-and there are alot more lesser known bulls too. The problem is-that people from outside the breed sometimes dont know which ones are real-and which are basically cow killers-from the looks of his response-niether does that owner LOL O0

Wow that post was a year and a half ago. The heifer had the calf and it was a 74 pd BW with not much problem. We are still new to the cattle bussiness and I may not understand but I thougth the (expected) EPDs on Sull Fed-Ex were heifer safe. That is the main reason I bred her that way.

You are VERY lucky!  Good luck in the breed.  When I started in shorthorns 8 yrs ago I also believed alot of the bs that people were spouting about this and that my advice to you is to go and meet as many people as you can and call and talk to them.  Ask about the different bulls you are interested in using and see who has been using them.  Trump, Rodeo Drive, Sonny, Solution, etc... are going to be ON AVERAGE larger bw cattle.  The JPJ, Captain, Double Duty, Sneed bulls will be ON AVERAGE lower bw easyer calving bulls.  Again good luck with the Shorthorns they are a wonderful breed of cattle.  Oh and you might not think so by this website, but the people are really nice in person.

Of course the cow contributes. Which most cows in what you consider to be the cool click are all bred similar. Then breeding them to another similar bred bull only makes it worse. I'd take marks breeding opinion or advice all day long. What bulls are you using AI this year? Naturally?
