Does the Angus breed bar animals with genetics defects from registry?  Do you have to test every Angus calf for defects before you get a registration paper?  I sincerely doubt if Shorthorns are the only ones with data manipulation problems.  Do you really think that every Simmental calf has a 100% accurate birth weight reported?  Do you truly believe that every animal with a reported weaning and/or yearling weight actually crossed a scales?  Face it.  Humans raise cattle.  When humans are involved, crap happens.  I don't like it, you don't like it, but that's the way it is.  All we can do is manage our own herds they way they should be managed and support the herds that we believe are handled with integrity.  A breed association can only do so much.  The rest is in the hands of the people that actually raise the cattle.  That will never change.

So to compete with the Angus Breed should we do the same as they do, or should we try to differentiate our product as to one up the competition? Implement the programs garybob and my self have suggested and I guarantee you our breed will gain legitimacy.

I have never seen one person respond saying you cant do it(start your dream association that is). So get after it. Sometimes those that squawk the most do the least.
