I have some Draft Pick in my tank and not sure what kind of cows he works best on. We have a Maine, Semmi, Angus cow herd. Any ideas?

Ultimately, you need to figure out what you want.  He is PHA Positive and has had some of the top females ever in the industry.  I would use his semen primarily for flushing as it is expensive semen now.    I would think breeding him to any of those would work but for females, I would think you would breed him to the thicker, deeper bodied, smaller framed ones as he was no pud.  I have heard his birth weights can be all over the board.  I saw his father The General in person many times.  But never saw draft pick.  Good luck.

Thanks Doner Heaven for your reply. Hope to hear from other breeders that have used him.

I did see Draft Pick out to Pannel Ranch in Wyoming years ago . Yes he definitely had some size to him. We bought some heifers sired by him out of angus cows , they were excellent mothers and were around many years .

On Habanero cows. No offense, but I would probably not even use it since he is PHA. JMO.

Knabe, I sense a little sarcasm there. It's the genetic defect that killed one of my cows along with the 200 lb calf we never got out of her. They went to be fertilizer.

I did end up with draft pick.

Yes he’s the most prominent carrier along with ice pick, 4072 and Irish whiskey.
