Does anybody know what this Simmi bull's actual birth weight is, and what kind of weights they are getting from his offspring using him on clubby mommas?  Thanks

Simmental Association's online herdbook doesn't show BW on their cattle, so I don't know his BW.  I do know he is getting used more and more in a lot of different herds.  Hopefully someone on here will be able to share more info on him.

Good luck.

His actual bw is 83 lbs can expect 65 to 85 generally, you will get some very small ones with a very low chance of getting a calf in the 90's.  His ASA epds would tell that he is fairly easy calving.  He is getting used in a lot of heifer projects.  It always seems like pelvic area is an issue with club calf heifers no matter what you breed them.

We've used some sexed female D.C. the last couple years in our bred heifer sale.  Haven't had any complaints.  The ones I calved were unassisted.

There's a DANG good one at www.youtube.com/roeckercattleco that sells next week.

The calf you talked about has to be Tag 69.  Is that the one?  I think if you look at that Foundation Simmental female and decide not to use Dream Catcher I want to know what you do breed to!

We've had a few dc calves, all came easy 70 lbs or so, but all heifers, can't say about bull calves.

Thank you everyone for your insight.  I spoke with the owner of the bull and he was extremely helpful.  Have a heatwave 2nd time calver I wanted to try him on and I feel good about that decision.  Wanted something that is small but will throw a good calf and it looks like a great match.  Yes I know, heatwave everyone put your frowns away haha.  Any how wish us luck cause that looks like what I am using.  Last year was a train wreck with a rocky balboa calf out of her (it was a reccomendation from the person we bought her from we took it no hard feelings and my fault for not researching more so please no bashing).  It was a 99 lb hfr which my vet said she could have popped out fairly easy if the one front leg came out instead of bent back, vet thought she had plenty of pelvic area to handle it with a slight pull.  We didn't get it caught in time and lost the calf, again our error she dropped earlier than expected the AI guy had her bred to the bull not AI and turns out it was the opposite.Human error and heatwaves not a good mix lol.  Anyhow I still want to put a low BW bull on her for her second calf and he was one I thought would click well with her style so I am anxious to try it, but past experience of course taught me a lesson so I just wanted everyone's opinion and past experiences.  Thank you everyone

Let us know how Dream Catcher works on Heatwave!

Unfortunately your single leg presentation happens every now and then.  If you are there to catch it everything is usually fine....if not, results are not always positive.

I went to look at a group of cattle once and saw a cow off calving.  Went to look at her with the owner (who apparently didn't know she was going to calve...ever..) and the cow had a calf with single leg and head out.  Looked like it had been out for about 3 days if you know what I mean.  It was rough....

Anyway, best of luck with DC.  I think the result should be positive for the show ring and might even have a chrome face.

Good Luck.
