I was wondering what everyone thought about using dream on on clubby bred heifers, if it would be a safe choice to get a live calf out of them or not? I usually use purebred angus but am trying to get some Simmi blood in the calves so I was wanting to use dream on. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Thank you in advance!

He would work but wouldn't be my first choice for a couple reasons.  I think semen can be pricey.  There are other good calving ease Dream On sons to use.. In Dew Time to name one.

I used Dream On on a Northern Improvement x 3c Macho/WMW cow and had a peanut of a heifer calf. The price isn't a worry to me because i figure its an investment in calving ease. She had her first calf this year unassisted and had a beautiful udder milked exceptional good. I like the temperment on our calves out of this mating as well. They seem to be laid back and are easy to break. We haven't had issues with hair either.

I used dream on on a heifer last year it was a nice calf but it was a bull calf that weighed about 85 piunds, thats too big for me.  I think that as long as you didnt overfeed the heifer late in gestation she would probably be fine.  Look into halfblood hes a  the answer x drean on I know some people that are using him on heifers hes young but probably a safer bet using clubby heifers. I agree with Oh breeder even with the price, to have a quality simmi bull that is very consistant in his calving ease and calf quality if your dead set on simmi he is probably as good as any. As for the 85 pound calf, that's not that uncommon even with dream on don't forget he is a simmi but his calves are usually lite fronted and good hipped enough to come through OK. if quarter bloods calves will work for I used wizard on my sun seeker and heat wave and am very happy with the calves, and the birth weights were 62 and 65.
