Looking at making the leap finally to a smart phone. Looking strongly at the Droid Bionic & just wondered if anyone out there had one.

I can comment directly on that particular phone, but I can tell you the android os is where you want to be. Android is up to 39% share of the smartphone market and has growing by leaps and bounds.

Blackberry is on a slow death roll.

Windows - meh

Iphone is a slick phone, but I am not going to be tied to the hip with apple "closed" system.  The one thing it had over everyone was its apps, but android marketplace is is gaining and will continue to grow faster as the platform grows.

My wife just got a Bionic on Saturday.  I really like it.  You can do so much with it.  We both have droid phones and a galaxy tab 10.1 and they just work together so well!  The Bionic has better specs than the iphone.  Go get one!

Doc,

I just made the change from a Blackberry to a Droid a few weeks ago, I do like the Droid but the battery life on the phones really sucks compared to what you are probably using now.  My BB would stay charged for a few days...my Droid can hardly make a day on a charge.

That is the nature of the beast with most of these smartphones that run big screens and fast processors.  The evo has 1ghz processor, I can guarantee there is quite a few people on this website that are using less power in their home computer.

You can save a ton of battery by turning off auto sync and extended batteries are available.  I can easily make it through a day now and I surf pretty heavy.

Well, I made the plunge on Friday morning. This thing is unreal. I don't have anything to compare it to , because this is my 1st smart phone. It sure is handy just touching a tab & having my e-mails right there. I even posted on JTM's post on here this afternoon off of my phone. Just don't know how long it's going to take me figure out how to use all the different apps. I thought going from an Nv3 to a smart phone that is a lot bigger would be a pain , but it hasn't been too bad.

Great!  Have fun with it.  There are apps for calculating calving dates, gps area of a field or pasture and so many other farm/cow things.  Along with all  of the other cool stuff other" non-cow " people use.  The spreadsheet in you pocket has so many cool uses.....
