Dry Skin

My steer has really dry skin on his neck what can I do? Also I had my first show sunday and placed second I learned alot and had fun thats all that matters!!!! (thumbsup) <party> (cow) (clapping) <cowboy> :eek:

Also I have been using kleen shean and mane and tail conditioner and also show sheen. His hair is conditioned with mane and tail daily.

I would say back off on the shampoo and conditioner for a day or two...just rinse them, don't use soap every time you rinse.

I do not use shampoo every day i only do shampoo every now and then but the conditioner is every day because he does have a lot of fur.

try to rub it all out then soak the area with kleen sheen or pink oil. since the skin is dry it needs the conditioning unit in the kleen sheen or the oil replaced in the skin by using the final bloom or pink oil.

I've had good success with Infusium leave in conditioner and kleen sheen.  I had a terrible time with the cow in our cow calf pair on her tail head.  It was absolutly awful...now its at least managable.

We have found that spraying vinegar on tops, tailheads, and necks reduces dry skin & dandruff. When I'm rinsing the show heifers during the summer I use conditioner one day and the next day I use vinegar. (So it's an everyday rotation) It seems to work pretty well IMO.
