What can anyone tell me about this bull. Pros and cons? Considering using jsf navigator and see that he's on the bottom side of his pedigree. But I don't know much about him.

Venture is an imported bull from Australia. He is a complete outcross to most of the more common Shorthorn genetics. However with him and his sons there are so many opportunities. I know a lot of people that would use him or his sons to produce heifers. They are some of the best cows a person can find. Navigator himself is known to through some really good replacement females. I know if you are wanting to do that they are phenomenal. The only concern is that if you are wanting to produce show calves I don't know exactly if that is the way to go. Great cow maker though.

Venture is definitely a good female maker. I saw Venture at Schrag's a couple weeks after  he arrived from Australia. He was moderate framed, with lots of thickness and capacity and appeared to be very soft made. He was extremely sound in his joints and overall structure. I remember Doug Schrag saying that he thought that the females Venture produced were going to be outstanding.... and he was right.
Venture sons are much like he was designed in their structure but and really not show animals which is probably not a bad thing. I don't think we need every sire in a breed capable of producing a show animal. I think there has to be a good number of sires that can produce commercially acceptable breeding stock and I think Venture could be considered to fall more into this category.
When you consider where he was born and bred, this does make sense. The Dunbeacon herd in Australia is commercially oriented and sells most of their bulls to commercial producers. They are students of structure and adaptability in the cattle they produce. They have a large herd and are one of the oldest Shorthorn breeding operations in Australia and probably the world. (Their herd has been breeding Shorthorns for 170 years)
On a side note, when we started to offer our Major Leroy semen internationally, David McDouall( who owned Dunbeacon with his son) phoned me and said they wanted to sample him in their herd. Their idea of " sampling" a bull in their herd, was to purchase 300 straws of semen. Compared to most North Americans who sample a sire by buying " 5 straws" and less if they can!
To get an idea of what kind of cattle Venture has behind him for generations, check out their website at www.dunbeacon.com.au . Venture was used in their herd for many years and I sure they still have lots of his genetics in their herd.

Will he work on most types of cows? I have some semen I want to flush with but trying to decide which cows to flush him to is the problem. Also would I be better or reverse sorting the semen for heifers or just taking what I get and using the bulls?

I bought a Venture x Augusta Pride dtr at Schrags this past December. She is a genetic full sister to Proud Venture at Shadybrook. She had a red SULL Primetime bull this spring. She's a really nice cow.

I have a few cows out of a flushmate to navigator. If you prefer a little more angular cow you will live them. I know mine have milk epds of 0 but 2 of them could be in a parlor.

Ryan how do they hold there body condition? I have been told that the eagle bloodlines can really milk.  Do the bulls calves have some power... Width and length?

Shadymaple or Galbreth should have mature photos of Nav daughters in production. When I walked thru shadymaple they had breds and mature females .... Venture daughters live forever.  I believe the pacer performance female that sold in Rob Sneed's sale 3 years ago was 12? Beautiful udders . If I find the video of the RS female I can post it?

I raised a son of Dunbeacon Venture that I was very pleased with. Attached is a 6 year old daughter MSD Ruby P 732. She and her full sister 832 have both been solid producers for us.

Here is her Jan 28 daughter this year at 3 1/2 mo. Could do without the chrome, but the heifer gets to stay. Haven't decided which one is on the way out, but nice problem to have.
