They are putting excessive importance on these to insert excessive prices too.....as many breeders do with their cattle, until people use it and see that isn't exactly what breeder is saling!

really "native" just means the cattle came near where angus originated and haven't had an outside influence which really doesn't mean anything. north american angus haven't had an outside influence either, relatively speaking unless you count maine's and holstein. both populations were created from a bottleneck and have had different mutations, combinations of genes, crossovers etc. accumulate. obviously they both have different selection pressure. i wouldn't expect them to do anything interesting without a few generations of selection pressure.

I visited Dunlouise in 2010.
Argentina also have some non-north ameircan Aberdeen Angus....better shaped than Dunlouise.

Sinclair had a Dunloiuse group in Pennslvania for a while, but dispersed a few years ago. I didn't go, but talked to someone who helped load some animals out. Those particular ones were jumping rails and not handling well at all.
Dunlouise Jipsey Earl E161 has seen some use in USA.

As I remember, the Pennsylvania facility was closing. Many animals were sold, not just the Dunloiuse. A select group of Dunloiuse went to Sinclair in Wyoming.

Apparently, they didn't nick with Rito the way they hoped. The Rito Emulation cross they wanted to try to superce is pretty unbeatable. Back when I was thinking about it the calving ease numbers put me off. Also the females in that sale were the hog fat androgynous type that can, just by phenotype, indicate fertility challenges.
I knew some Wye-ish breeders who sampled Jipsey Earl and the daughters didn't remain in their programs.
BUT that was a few years ago and doesn't reflect, necessarily, upon the program in Scotland.
