I am dying my steer with Black Velvet and have read about using kleen sheen mixed with it? I do not have a fogger. How much kleen sheen with how many bottles of velvet? Can I rub it in with gloves? Does he need to be clean? How long do I need to leave it in for? Any help is appreciated!

you don't have to use kleen sheen it can be used with just the ingredients given within the two bottles, a spray bottle will work, amount of bottles depends on the calf but don't use so much that you can't apply all of it within a five minute period. The bottle says that you shouldn't leave it any longer than 20 minutes or you will burn the skin of your animal, then rinse out without soap and oil heavily after the rinse.

What I usually do is mix enough die to be applied in 5 minutes.  How much Kleenex sheen really depends on the size of your bottle. Now that said, before u even think about dying your calf they need to be show ring clean, no dirt what so ever. Yes you should rub it in with gloves, let it sit for about 18-20 minutes, DO NOT exceed this limit. You need to be able to apply all of the die within give minutes, otherwise you will have one side ready to wash and the other side still sitting. If you exceed twenty minutes you could burn the hide on the calf. If you are going to add Kleen sheen you need to have about a 1.5:1 ratio of Kleen sheen to dye. U could also add in a pea or nickel size drop of conditioner. This will help keep the skin from drying out. Make sure you apply your dye evenly. If u don't it will not look good at all. You also need to make sure all of the dead hair is out of your calf. Hope this helps
