We are planning on dying some heifers and I was wondering if theres some tips for doing it.  I've heard of mixing the dye with kleen or show sheen and using a spray bottle, but was curious if there were some other ideas out there as well.
Thanks..

To make them look SUPER black. The calves will look better and it will be easier to hide flaws.

Mix the dye with kleen sheen in your fogger.  Use one motor on your blower with the fogger. Fog everything you want dyed.  let it set 30 mins to an hour.  I do not leave it in longer than that because it can burn the skin and cause flaking.  Rinse it out.  If you use hair dye for people use the conditioner that comes with it after you have rinsed the dye out.  hope that helps

Start with a very clean dry animal. Mix the dye in a spray bottle(I like the bottle as not as much waste and more on the calf) or fogger with WATER.( they say your calf should not have anything in its hair but then we mix the dye with stuff, Kirk Steirwalt told me this) Spray the calf all over and comb in well. Let dry either by itself or put a fan on it. Then rinse till no more colour is coming out. Condition well to extra well and dry again. You can wash the next day or two.

just make sure it can't be toweled off if they happen to check. also make sure it's not prohibited for your show.
