Just wanting to know what everyone thinks of the finding that the latest e.coli in meat was actually located in ground beef that was IMPORTED from Canada (Ranchers Beef Ltd - Alberta). That cost Topps Meat Company in the U.S. their company, due to no fault of their own, except the U.S. had no country of origin labeling.
So whats everyones take on this???

irradiation.  1.5 cents per pound.  the lynch pin is the way hamburger is processed.  recently there was an excellent article in the NY times about meat processing and all the steps that are taken to minimize the problem.  these costs are added to the meat.  they are more than irradiation.  so simple.  we only need to irradiate hamburger, not the sliced cuts.  typical human solution, overcomplicate it because of the word radiate.  oooooh it almost sounds as bad as profit.
