Hello all
So far I have met some outstanding people and spoken with many more.  I just thought I would drop a friendly reminder about us offering ET services here in SE Ohio.  So far, most of the interest has been in dropping the cow off at my farm to be flushed/collected/frozen etc.  By all means, please inquire about the pricing and fees, etc.  I am offering a 25% discount (FSH not included) to all who decide to give me a try.  It's a way to give back to you for helping me get started.

Thank you for such a great forum!

JCE, I can fully understand your desire to get started with this great career choice, as I started 33 years ago in 1981. It was a long road to success back then as we all had to learn it as we went. Today you younger folks have many classes about it while in college.

One thing that I want to say here to you -- and trust me on this one. Advertising your self in print does not do much for people who do not know you. In fact some will say it is almost arrogant to do so. Word of mouth will get you more good (and BAD) results than any other form.

If it were me -- I would be posting this in the classified section on here if you feel you must. I am not trying to undermine your desires, but after over 9000 flushes myself, I know one thing for certain, it takes TIME to do this correctly, and even longer to get a FEEL for these cows. They will talk to you every day, you just have to know what they are saying. There is no BOOK you can read to get you to where you need to be, it will take a large pile of dirty gloves and a lot of sweat. One happy customer will bring in a dozen more over time, but just ONE pissed off customer will chase away a 100. Food for thought.

Happy trails -- Terry

Thank you very much for the insight.  I actually agree with you 100%.  I guess what I really wanted to do was to just let the members of this forum know there is a new option here in our area.  I am certainly focusing on the 'word of mouth' part of this venture as I know I need to do a good job for clients in order to get more.  I have a feeling it will be a slow, arduous process but one I'm willing to stick to.  I also understand how much more effectively 'bad word of mouth' spreads than 'good'.  It's a shame but it is the way of the world.  I think I will heed your advice and stick to a more conservative game plan and perhaps start more advertising after a handful of satisfied clients.
Thank you!
Josh
