Took my N shipper - plastic tan colored protective container with N vessel inside to local post office.  Post office is small 1 post master & 2 rural carriers, office only open ~ 30 hours per week.  Used click n ship like I always do, insured for ~ half the value of the 6 embryos I sold.  Shipper went to Champaign, IL USPS hub then to Houston, TX USPs hub.  When the shipper arrived at the Embryo center in TX the inner lid was missing, embryos were gone, tank was warm.  I did not seal the shipper with a zip tie.  Shipped Priority Mail with tracking notifications.

Anyone ever have this happen before?  Could the liquid N be what the thieves were after?  Thinking if it was the embryos, the thief would have replaced the lid.  Filed a claim with USPS, will talk to postmaster tomorrow.

Just a guess. I think it just got tipped over during the route and if not tied shut or locked so that it couldn't open up. It just tipped over and dumped itself out and the driver did not have any idea as to what he/she should do so they did nothing. I also think that you'll have a hard time collecting for a perishable product. Good luck.

I don't know what happened for sure, but I agree that I suspect the shipper tank tipped over in shipment and the contents spilled out. I think it is very wise to always put a zip tie on the lid so that it cannot come off.
