I think the best is Dr. Stroud or his son who also works in Weatherford Texas at Stroud Embryo Services.  That's about as good as you'll find anywhere.

Up here, Dr. Hannon and Dr. Dixon in Rennsealear, Indiana are about as good as it gets. Terry "cowboy" Morris is as good as you get get IMO, but Nebraska is a bit further to go than the 45 minute drive to Dr. Hannon!

I'll second that.  Dr. Stroud is not only an excellent embryologist, but he is very helpful in answering any question you may have, and even many questions you may have never thought of.  Last I knew, he had transferred well over 100,000 embryos in his career, and that was several years ago.

If you folks are in Texas, then for certain, Dr Dan Stroud is an excelent place to go. I know him, been a long time since I talked to him, but we have both been AROUND so to speak.

Over in the eastern Midwest, Dr Hannon will certainly get the job done -- wish I was closer to you all this year especially , we are so slow here in the DEAD PAN of Nebraska, it is about to make me cry.

Ihave known for a long time that I just landed in the wrong place, but this spring is beyond dead. Tere are 2 cows in the donor pen, where as w usually have over 20 right now -- it is scary.

Any one need an aging hired man -- with a worn out arm and no hair -- give me a call!!!!!!!

It might just  be that my normal customer base is in transition == having bred most of the donors back for this year -- at least  hope that is it, other wise it is going to be very long dry year. I keep hoping for th semi to pull in wit 30 donors, I think they got lost is transit!! hehehe

Take care and I hope every one is having a good spring -- sure is nice right now!

Terry

PS -- Thanks for the plug Olsen -- appreciate it!

Clear down in the SW corner -- just a bit west of  McCook and about 90 miles south of North PLatte.

Great cow country-- just not enough of them I guess. Thanks for asking -- stop in some time if you are going by -- bring your Semi -- hehehe

What do you charge to keep a cow and flush her?  I have never done this before for have a cow that is older and am thinking about flushing her a few times before I have to get rid of her.  I have no idea on cost, time involved, etc.  Any info you can provide would be great.

IMO Cross Crountry Genetics North near Manhattan KS or their new location in Oklahoma just N of OKCity. And just to answer the next question, yes I know he is asking about something close in TX. I haul ours to the OK clinic and I am in central TX. It is well worth the trip when it comes to flushing donors or putting in embryos.
