Alright guys there is something I've been questioning for a solid year now. What makes Eye Candy so much better in everyones eyes. Eye Candy is out of Naughty Pine so why did people not breed more Naughty Pines? I personally have seen more better naughty pines as mature cattle. The ones I have seen have been sound enough, good bodied, plenty of growth, good hair, and stout enough. To me the eye candys are great babies but have yet to see one with for sure enough growth. The front ends on most i have seen are pretty plain for a slick shear type show. I might just see cattle a little different but it blows my mind that people would bet the bank on eye candy but look completely past his sire...even today heatwave has more success than most of his sons. Not trying to bash a bull or the promoters the bulls i mentioned (EC & NP) are both Traush bulls. Lets keep this civil but seriously this has been on the back of my mind for a while now I guess I just don't have the right cattle for eye candy?

from what I have seen, Naughty Pines are consistent with what i want on a regular basis. No experience with eye candy myself but i have seen some calves here and there that are all over the place. We bred 5 in 2 years, got got 4 calves and they were exactly what I wanted and had some color to them. I might give EC a shot next spring but NP has a place reserved on my list.

My opinion is that Eye Candy is better from his dam side as Eye Candy is half Galloway, that is what makes him better. Galloways have alot of hair and have good size. Hair is a big thing for show cattle and Galloways have plenty of that with good muscle then you add the club calf side of Naughty Pine. But when you compare the two, there is no comparison, I would use Eye Candy any day all day before I would use Naughty Pine for breeding club calves. That is my 2 cents.

We have had both and like the Eye Candy calves.  Most of the Eye Candy females we have kept have made great mothers.  None of the Naughty Pine heifers made it past the sift for replacements.  JMHO

Naughty pine is an 04 model, eye candy is an 07 model if im not mistaken. Has naughty pine been given enough chances on the right cows? I have yet to see an eye candy cow but have seen plenty of naughty pines. How many of yall that raise club calves start creeping at 30 days? Food for thought most of the show world today is all fed not so much on the cow as it use to. The cow needs to be productive just kinda tired of hearing about how eye candy is the best new bull... and I know the importance of hair i have shown competitively and now that im graduated I am raising cattle and have had plenty of success in the 2 years of doing it. Just has been on my mind and have yet to see an eye candy that I would personally own. They are for sure hairy and pretty babies but haven't seen one to stand the heat. Where are the great ones in the end?

At best Eye Candy's daughters are only 3 years old, so give it some time. Naughty Pine's daughters are up to 6 years old. I have seen some Naughty Pine cows that were not bad looking but can't really say what there maternal traits are like. But I can say this, the steers and heifers I have seen personally are not even close, way more steer and heifer calves out of Eye Candy that are better built than the little stock I have seen out of Naughty Pine. I will also say that when it come down to maternal traits, the Eye Candy heifers and cows are going to have a better maternal side to them I would bet as long as the dam side of the calves are not bad for maternal traits with the Galloway being in there. Can I say for sure that they are going to be great cows, No. But I can also say the Naughty Pine cows are not close to great as I would pick alot of other sires to have cows out of then Naughty Pine. But breeding my cows for calves to sell, I don't even have to think twice on which bull I would use between them two. If you like Naughty Pine, use him, I just have not been overly impressed with the calves I have seen out of him.
