Has anyone heard about a clubby sire called " Eyes on the Money"?  I saw two calves on Sunday that got my attention. Both calves were black, a steer from a Red Angus cow, and a heifer from a Galloway cow. Both were very stout. The steer calf is pretty good- thick, big butt, excellent legs, very moderate , style to burn. I thought I could find some information on some internet sites, but so far I haven't been able to find him. I am going to phone the owner and see where he got the semen, and check him out some more. Just thought I would check to see if any of the SP gang was familiar with him.

Usually they are hairy but you have to watch the structure as you would with any clubby. Someone on here was tlaking about Red Hot when they saw him in person. Eyes on the money is a son and there is a full brother to Red Hot called Red Hot and Rolling both are out of Heat Seeker.

The bull is very small in stature. He is catching more attention all the time. He has actually been cloned already. PPL say that he will size down & power up calves. He is a bull that we have been watching for some years, but has been slow to catch on up in the midwest & north, ( too small), for most. In his yearling year, Dustin Glover told me to use him with confidence. He had been fitting the bull.

I knew I had heard of him, but I couldn't remember much about him. When I Googled him and then checked out a couple of major semen distributors websites, and couldn't find him, I  started wondering if my mind was starting to play tricks again ( I am starting to show my age!!) The calves I saw were certainly down sized in frame, but they certainly were super thick made. Both were pretty correct, but the steer calf really grabbed my attention.

Lautners aren't using dist. anymore than they feel they need to any longer. If you go to Lautner Farms web site they will be able to take care of semen needs on their bulls.

i saw an eyes on the oney calf in the fall then as a fat. he was 47.5 inches at 1100 some pounds, thick as anything, hairy, bad front end. like he was scrunched up in his chest and you wanted to pull him out a bit. other than being a midget and bad front he was really good. thats the only one iv'e seen

We sold 2 good Eyes On The Money steers last year. Very correct and clubby, but a little short in the neck. Several breeders in this area have the same concern. Breed him to long-necked, good fronted cows and you will probably be all right.
I did not use him this year. We bred to Heat Wave, Carnac, Golden Child, Hardcore, Orange Crush, Who Made Who, Witchdoctor, American Gangster, Paddy O'Malley, and Ali 2 on the heifers. Based this on what we thought were our best results in this fall crop, plus the idea of keeping some females that are MOSTLY genetically "clean". We also wish to keep the Hardcore and Ali heifers and register them for future production of Maine Show heifers.
