I went to move cows to another section of grass this morning, and check for heats (breeding season starting soon  (thumbsup)) and took some shots of our fall calves with my cell phone.
The first photo is our Club King x Dream On cow embryo calf; we bought the embryos from Jeff Miller. This is our second calf from that mating, the first is a spring heifer that we are showing this next year and REALLY nice! This calf is a October, and growing like a weed. We are selling a pregnancy in our Fall Harvest sale this month (November 23rd) of this mating. Heifer or bull, it should be a great calf!
The second photo is a Montecito heifer calf, born in October, so about 30 days old. We are pretty happy with her so far.
The third photo is a Built Right x SOSF Joys Shadow late September bull calf. We are happy with his growth, and are looking forward to seeing him develop into a bull. We have two more embryos in the tank, hope to get another in this fall.
The fourth pic is a Dream On x ETR Antoniette L120 (Lola) bull calf, September. We bought those embryos from Windy Ridge, and have one more due in January. This bull calf pounds the scales, the only thing I would change in him right now would be a white face!!!  ;)
The last photo is our Beef Maker x Pioneer Angus heifer calf. Remember, she was 49 pounds at birth? She is growing now, and about 45 days she has caught up to her contemporaries. She is a cutie! I love her head, very pretty. She is a bred and owned for my oldest daughter.
We are almost out of grass, so soon will go on hay. We have about another week left. Then the cows get pulled up into our sacrifice pasture and fed hay until the spring grass returns...
Our next group of calves start coming right after Christmas, and many of those are embryo babies so good times! We have Lock n Load, Steel Force, Broker, and Dream on to name a few. Each one will be an exciting time here at the ranch!!! Wea re hoping for some heifers with a white face.... we shall see  (lol)
