Boy, it has been a busy year! We completed out the year with our state sale, Fall Harvest, and were happy with the results (we had the high selling animal, a Grandmaster bred heifer that our middle daughter showed). Anyway, we are super excited about not only our spring 15 heifers that the kids will be showing, but our fall crop that is on the ground. I will throw a few pictures up to show you, but they have not been clipped nor worked at all! The heifers are halter broke at least!

The first picture is a 2 week old calf, sired by Final Cut (Fat Butt's brother) and out of an Angus cow (Pioneer). Super nice, great docility, and looks like he will have an outstanding set of EPD's (Final Cut had better EPD's). He was 60 pounds at birth. We call him Carne because he has, what looks like, a Carnation on his forehead. The kids named him ;D
The second picture is a HPF Optimizer heifer calf, born in November, to a HEIFER that will not be two until later this month. Yea, we bred her a little early. But this little gem came in at 50 pounds. Her dam is a Steel Force x REN Extra Nice embryo heifer. We are pretty excited to see her grow, she certainly has that "Show Me" type personality (as you can see by her picture!).
The third pic is a heifer that is several generations deep of our breeding. She is sired by a Steel Force son, out of a Fat Butt x Built Right cow. She is bred and owned for our son, and will likely head to Nationals in Iowa with him. She is a March.
The fourth pic is a little different breeding for us. She is sired by a (Aubrey's BlackBlaze II x Lock n Load) sire, out of WhoxMeyer cow. She is super stout, and will be shown this year (she is a May).
Last is one of our bulls, and embryo. He is a March, sired by 3C Macho x DLS She's a Looker. He is for sale. We have him and a pretty nice Built Right 3/4 blood bull out of our good Macho cow (half brother to the bull in my avatar).
We have lots of show heifers this year to choose from, which is a nice problem to have.  ;) Hopefully, our kids will have a good year!

Awesome pics!  I'm glad you posted an update on the Optimizer heifer calf.  We have a %Sim heifer we are looking to breed back to either him or Uno Mas this spring.

Good luck this year!

Here is our attempt at using clubby genetics! He is an October born bull calf, sired by Monopoly. His dam is a good Built Right cow, who we have kept all of the females out of her and the heifer pictured in the first post with her head on the bunk is her granddaughter! Several people have shown interest in him as a clean up bull, so for now he keeps his testies..  (clapping)

And we have several more of those HPF Optimizer calves coming at the end of spring, and we also have the Uno Mas babies. Both come small for us...

Those are some nice calves! I keep wrestling with the idea of adding a nice black blaze faced heifer to the herd, and these pictures make me want to try it even more!

I thought I would update the pictures on our Monopoly x Built Right bull calf. We weighed him last week, 390 pounds (he is an October). He was very easy to halter break, and has the best personality. I had a nice guy out today looking at spring bulls, and he asked me how much I would sell him for (we were looking at the dams of the bulls he was looking at). I asked him why, since he was breeding commercial and this guy was not what he was looking for for a bull prospect (plus, to young!), he said he wanted to cut him and take him to the fairs in OK!
What do you all think? His testes are average size for a simmi (so not small compared to typical clubby bull calves). I am just not sure how to market this guy... anyone want to take him off my hands? lol  (clapping)
