I saw a PBS show about the Da Silva family from Brazil. 14 out of 26 have 6 digits on each limb. As I understand it it is a genetic condition that affects how the digits develop in the womb. I spose its similar to the th deal in cattle only not lethal. So.........I assume that if you linebred this condition you could create alot of humans with 6 fingers which is an advantage for players of sport and musicians. Would these people be of same species.........am I misunderstanding this story. Wouldn't this deal be the same deal as people becoming lactose tolerent as lactose intolerant was the norm. Any thoughts?

In Northeast Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas we have several groups of Hmong families that have moved to the area.  They are either refugees from the Vietnam war or children of refugees.  Many of them have extra thumbs. More prominent in girls.  It is a genetic disorder.
