I have just recently purchased new fans to replace our old ones. I have been having them run all day and shut them off at night when I turn my calves outside. We have a very old barn (built in 1876) and I am a little nervous with them running all day with me not home. I don't want them to overheat or something and burn the barn down. Has anyone had any problems with fans overheating and causing problems or should I not be worried?

Thanks

Our fans have been running on our daughter's steer 24/7 since last October and we haven't had any problems - she does dust them off once every couple of weeks

1-Keep them dusted-use your show blower to blow them out
2-hang or mount them away from bales of straw or hay
3-don't have them directly touching anything

You should be good to go.

Thanks, that really makes me feel better. We have never had problems before but I just wanted to make sure.
