We are wanting to get a custom farm sign made to display when we go to shows we have a pretty good idea of what we want and I have tried to find someplace on the internet to design my own sign but am having trouble finding someplace where I can design it without having to buy some special program. Any suggestions? Also who would you recommend to do the sign? We are wanting a 18x24 double sided sign.

Not sure where you are but the sign places here are needing business and will go out of their way to fix something and price isn't bad. The signs for our end rails was less than 30 bucks. And they have the stencil? If we want more.

Do you have a contact? Name, number, website?...

I would contact Tucker Mittag from Mittag show cattle in southern Iowa.  They do a lot of design work and they would also be able to hook you up with someone to make the sign.

The best approach would be to get a graphic designer to do the imaging and then find a print/sign shop to actually make it.  Doubtful that anyone in the cattle business is at the forefront of graphic design. It's possible though.

I actually have a BFA in graphic design... And a masters in animal science. Weird combination, I know lol

I've told my girls I would help them design a sign to take to shows, but I don't think they have anybody to actually make the sign. That's why I was asking. We would have the graphics part covered...just need a fabricator of some sort.

Thelma Halderman at Halderman Show Cattle makes all kinds of signs, your design or hers.  A lot of people in Southwest Ohio have her signs.  Good job, good folks and reasonable.  I think their website is haldermanshowcattle.com

I work part time at a print and design shop that specializes in signage and banners. Shoot me a message with your ideas. We're actually one of the biggest businesses in Southern Ohio and all of our stuff is exceedingly cheap.

Ranch House is the best in the business. I can get you a quote worked up if you message me. They come full color, 24x24, double sided, glossy with the grommets for hanging.

Thanks everyone for the help. I actually happened to find a local sign shop and stopped in and they were glad to help me out. Told them what we wanted and they came up with some options for us to look at and then made our final decision .Should be done Wednesday

Did you go with Vinyl lettering?  Hand painted signs are the greatest, but are almost collectable nowadays.
