Have 2 heifers(a monopoly/last call and a full moon/ladies man) that I am feeding. They are on high noon heifer developer. They get 5lbs of feed and half a scoop of beet pulp a piece. They are still putting on condition though. Any suggestions to keep them growing but slow them down. Condition wise? Thought about adding some oats in, but then thought maybe a commercial feed with 14% protein and hardly no fat(.05-1%)

According to the plant owner, they reccomend a 2% intake per day, but I have always fed them no more than 1.5 body weight and free choice grass hay -- no other feed other than salt and mineral. They get to about 800 pounds or so pretty fast that way, but are not fat.

If you go past the 2% per day body weight in feed and still add other stuff to it, they will EXPLODE -- hehehe

You are using the best there is, get rid of the beet pulp for now, and make the total intake no more than 3% body weight including hay -- no alfalfa partner!  Weight them often, like every two weeks -- both of thier mothers were fed the same ration as you have now, and they are tremendous cows.

Got a weight on them lately -- kind of curious.

Don't add any more calories than the ration already has, especially any higher protien,  and keep your fat level down there where it is in the bag -- you will love the condition when they level out!

Keep up the good work down there in windy city!!!
