I brought 2 bred heifers and a coming 2 year old bull out of pasture on Saturday to start feeding them for this fall/winter. You folks that pull out older cattle - what percentage of body weight do you typically feed? On calves I normally stay between 2-3% of body weight. 3% on a 1500lb bull is 45lbs/day, which seems a little high to me. We're targeting them for NILE in October, Agribition in November, and NWSS in January.

Thanks!

45 pounds does sound like a lot but to get him show fat I'd start at 45 and in about 2 weeks be around 50 then after a while I'd give him all he wants
