This is a Santa Gertrudis bull I own interest  and show rights in. He was show very successfully this show season  being named Reserve TX State Champion, 2nd in class at the National Show (he was 2 months younger than the class winner), and Bull Calf Champion at the Louisiana State Fair last November.

I weighed him this past week and he is currently at 1225 pounds at 11 months of age. He's one of the most unique Santa Gertrudis bulls to hit the show road in quite some time. I plan to not only market him heavily in the purebred community but also in the ABC and Club Calf world. I think this bull can and will be EXTREMELY useful for producing American steers.

This picture was taken at the Houston Open Show in march (from my Blackberry..hints the poor quality)

I have been watching pictures of this bull since he was a pup, and he is definitely unique in a good way. He is moderate, thick, and especially for a gert has a very cool set to his hip. Outlaw cattle next breeding season I will be interested in a couple straws so keep me updated. Congrats in the showring!

We've been to the shows that this young bull has been to. He looks like he will do great things for our breed in the future, he is one awesome bull that will be breeding some of our herd next season. :)

AWESOME Gert Bull....Maybe if there were more like him in the breed I would like the breed a little better.  Nothing big, and not knocking Gert people I have just never been a huge Gert fan.  I love the bone, squareness and thickness of this bull.  For a Gert, or any american for that matter, he is just really eye appealing and a pleasure to look at.  I would maybe like to see him have a little more depth of body, but thats being critical on a really nice bull! Congrats and good luck with him!
