Fire Sweep Simmentals has a great day

OK, so today was the junior show at our big district fair (Ozark Empire Fair), and we had a great day  <party> We had Champion purebred female (who was also Champion Bred and Owned - $300 just for that!), Champion Cow/Calf pair, Champion Simmental Bull, and Reserve Champion Simmental bull (who was bred and owned also!)!!!  (clapping) ;D
This is huge!!! They put champion purebred against champion percentage Simmental (which Sam Wallace has, that female won our percentage national show) and of course the Wallace percentage heifer beat us, but we still had a great day!!! Last year, the mother of the Bred and Owned (and was champion pair today) won Champion Simmental Female in the open division, so it i nice to have the daughter back doing it in the junior show!!! The judge was Wes Hudson from Arkansas.
Now putting our heads back in the sand to do well in open (which is Sunday)! God had truly blessed us!!!!

wow thats awewsome never been down to OEF and dont do to our district show (kirksville.  hear oef is awesome though wan to take a steer down next year.  see ya at state fair

Well, Sunday was not AS fantastic, but still good! We had champion cow/calf pair, reserve champion bull, and premier breeder award! Most of our girls took first, so we still did good. I am just glad to be home!!! We are expecting temps above 100 every day this week (VERY UNUSUAL for Missouri!). I couldn't image spending the days at the fair. Several of our steer planet members will be there this week with the other breeds, so I wish them all good luck!!!
Thanks for all the well wishes! It is not often to get the big wins we got this week. I will post photos when I get them back (after Wednesday).  Now to state fair next week... then we are DONE for the most part  (thumbsup) Oh, and congrats to Coachmac, his daughter won junior showmanship! No small feat at this fair!!! <party>
