Hey everyone, been busy but back today.  Soooo hot down here in this ole dry Texas dirt, cows have been living under the big oaks.  But calving time will be here before we know it and thinking need to get to planning for that.
Ok . . . first year down, second year coming.  As some of you know we have Angus/Maine northern cows that were all bred to PADDY OMALLEY, had a few nice calves, and a few even nicer heifers.  So we've decided we 'think' we want to just do the old fashioned bull on the heifers this first time out.  We are going to AI all the cows this time then turn want to turn out on this same bull.

So . . . help me out, to make things simple thought we would start looking for a good bull that we can use for both purposes.  On our heifers, then clean up on the cows.  Our cows are big, if anything we need more compact and bigger butted.  I love colors, and would be good to add some good genetics since we like to hold back some of our best heifers.  We did plan to breed for club calves, was tough this year, but we've already spent this much, figure we have to keep trying!!
Any suggestions appreciated.

Hope everyones having a wonderful summer!!   (oh yea we do have a few nice show wethers for sale now!) <cowboy>

I would try to find an OCC influenced Angus bull. I Love the OCC Angus X Irish Whiskey lines crossed. Awesome show and cow potential.
