First ice storm of 2010

We are getting rain, freezing rain and sleet here. Generator is sitting by the back door. RW

Right now Im just waiting for it to hit.

Seen some pictures on Juli Nelson's facebook and they are getting Hammered up there in Denison Iowa.  I just hope it stays north out of Missouri

It is an icy mess in north west iowa now.  Just hope the wind doesnt get to strong before the ice falls off the power lines and trees.  If not will be alot of places out of power and some are already.  Was on the road today and wasnt many people traveling on the county roads it was a 40 mph day.  Which is hard for  me normally driving 65 plus.

About 1/4  to 1/2 inch of Ice on everything so far. Power has only been off once for about 1 1/2 hours. Rw

yea same here no power..we just got in 4,000 lil pigs last week, so the generators are running keeping them warm. A highway about 7 miles from us has all the telephone poles broke fro 5 miles

You folks just keep that mess up North.  We don't really need another ice storm this year.

Please, Please be careful out there!!!  I've been meaning to get this posted sooner.  Two days ago as step out of the folk's house out at the farm the powerline going into the house nearly came down on top of me.  I mean it was CLOSE!!!Just had another one of those birthday dealies on sunday & was hoping to catch a few more.  Makes a guy take inventory and I'm not talking cattle.  Like jbh said on his video "I know you won't forget to count your cows just don't forget to count your blessing."  Awsome quote.
