What is everyone setting as their floor prices now that a lot of sales are going on? Also, what is everyone that is looking for a steer or heifer project is willing to pay for a calf?

I have seen floor prices from $1500-$2000 on steers and $2000-$3000 on heifers. Seems to me that people are willing to pay more this year than in the past. Judging from the online sales however its hard to tell what is really sold or what one truly brings on these online sales.

I doubt that the show cattle prices double just because  they did in the beef industry. Maybe some increase in bull prices......but there aren't a lot of cows out their to need bulls.

We have never spent a lot of money on steers.  We are more of the "wait them out and there will be a good one left somewhere mentality".  In the past we have tried to hang around that $2,500...$3,500 if they are really good.

This year we are starting at $3,500.  I figure anything under that is just plain stealing one.
