Well the results of the flush to Resource have been nothing but phenomenal.  3 bull calves have all been high sellers, the daughters have been fantastic and I'm keeping the best bull calf yet.  He's pictured below and so is a first calf ET daughter from this mating.  We are going to flush the old girl 2T and one of her sisters this spring.  Just gotta decide on the bull now...

Nice looking cattle. What ever you flush her to will probably turn out great!

Remember when I suggested using one of the Peak Dot Bulls?  I think an out cross to SAV bloodlines bull like Hoover No Doubt or Vision Unanimous would work great and any replacements you keep can go back to the SAV Resource breeding you like.  You have many great options.  Also have you ever considered a limo bull to get some good Limi Flex cattle?

Thanks Cruiser!

Good points Mark.  Unanimous is certainly high on my list to use.

No doubt looks to be a very good bull but I have used plenty of his sire Bullseye so he's not really an outcross for me.  I have a walking bullseye son and I used Bruns Blaster last year by AI.  In fact the 2 year old I pictured above had a Blaster bull calf that looks very good.  The Peak dot son that I did use last year was Jump Start (via Semex).  His calves look really good.  May need to revisit that sooner than later.

A bull I am keen to try is Bruin Torque.  I have some in the tank and I think he should be a female making machine.  We also added North Camp Silver Star and OHL Check Book to the tank this year.  Both are certainly different types to what I normally have.

Nyk - how big of BW and shape was your Blaster calf?  He looks to have some substance, but may be a little to high maintenance for our area.

Have a couple of Torque calves coming this year.  Cows not due for 2-3 weeks, so will not know for sure which of the 4 cows stuck to him for a few days yet.

He's a thick bugger.  Was 85lbs.  I pulled him out by hand mostly because I'm impatient.  No puller or anything so it's not like it was a difficult birth.  We used him on heifers and cows.  I'd say Blaster is safer as a cow bull. As for high maintenance I'm not sure.  My Bullseye son I walked has had a rough life here.  He always gets the clean up duty and stays with the cows for way too long then never gets fed any grain cuz he gets mixed with the fat show bull after the fall shows.  That being said he carries his condition well. Pic is of him coming off pasture as a long yearling.  Best part is how docile he is. Never wants to fight.  Just breeds cows and stays where he should be.

Keep me posted on the torque calves.  He's interesting.

Just over 2 in that pic I guess.  My mistake. I was thinking 22 months but he was 26 months (2 months over, not under)  Oops.
