Looking to flush two cows and was wanting to set up the recips to put some of the eggs in fresh.  Was looking to use CIDR's to group them up.  My question is what do some of you use for protocols for this.  We usually insert the cidrs on day 0 and give shot of Cystorelin and on day 7 pull cidrs and shot of Lut.  What day do you start the shots to super ovulate the donors?  Would the 7 day cidr protocol be the same for both the recips and the donors (timing the same) to get the recips to come in at the same time you would breed the donors?  My thinking would be to put Cidrs in on Wednesday and pull the following Wednesday, cows are usually in heat then on Saturday so we would breed the donors on Saturday and then whatever recips are in heat on Saturday would be candidates to put fresh eggs in the following Saturday when the donors would be flushed.  Any help here would be much appreciated.  Have contacted and Embryologist but he hasn't got back with me yet.

Yes to put in fresh eggs the recips need to cycle with the donor or shortly before or shortly after will work as well

This is our protocall to a T.

Day 1- Insert CIDRS into recips and donors. Recips also get a shot of GNRH at this time. Donors a shot of Estradiol with Progesterone. (AM)
Day 5- Start Folltropin shots on Donor. (PM)
Day 8- CIDR's come out of recips and they get a shot of estrumate.(AM) Donors get Estrumate & remove CIDR. (PM)
Day 10- Recips get GNRH 48 hours after removing CIDR. (AM) Breed Donor. (PM)
Day 11- Breed donor. (AM)
Day 17- Flush Donor and Implant recips.

Recips may or may not show heat in the 48 hour period. They get the GNRH at 48 hours either way.

Have used this protocall for several years with great results. We relly make an effort to do everything at the same time of day each time we catch them.

redsimms How often do you gie the folltropin shot and when do you quit the shot.  How many cc's of Folltropin do you use.

The Donors get 8 shots in varying amounts 1 every 12 hours. Ending day 9 in the AM.  The dosages are tailored to each donor and vary. They also vary between embryologists. So best to see what your embryologist prefers and recommends.  Hope this helps. I wouldn't really attempt anything without specific guidlines from the person who will be doing the flush...
