We will be flushing this purebred Angus cow in a couple of weeks.  Not sure if we want to flush her to a simmy bull, an Angus bull or a clubby bull.  Any suggestions? She is a New Design 878 daughter.

We tend to breed about half our cows clubby and the other half we breed for replacements. We really have a good market both ways. Her last two calves were heifers and averaged $4250. Both were out of Angus bulls.  We were thinking maybe Upgrade but would love to hear some more options.

BEB Juneau, MCC Blackout, TC Touchdown, Bando 1961, Connealy Confidence, RB Barometer, Ankonian Werner Wildfire, MCATL Pure Product.  She looks to be a super pretty cow, just looks like she needs powered up.

why not go maine on her? chances are you will end up with a clubby type of calf with papers. I-80 and Boomer are hot now... or u chould go char on her. it would be neat to see what firewater would do.

With a 4250 average on her calves I would change absolutely nothing, if it isn't broke then don't fix it. Jmho.

Thanks guys, her heifer this year was out of Lut, she's really cool, but maybe a touch narrow.  The heifer from two years ago is a Duff Outlook, and I personally liked her a little better. I've attached a pic of her, what are some Angus bulls that would breed similar? Sorry, we aren't really Angus people so I'm not up on my Angus bulls.

I would use a Angus bull that would add power from performance a well known Program.  I would try Hamilton Farms HF Tiger 5T or his full brother HF El Tigre 28U.

Which up Upgrade bull, the Angus or Simmental? Both could work.  I might also consider Consensus for growth and power or Totally Tuned for extra bone and thickness.

Have you thought about a Limousin bull, like DHVO Duece? Juniors can show 50% LimFlex cattle with the purebreds.  If I was flushing to a Angus bull I would consider, EXAR Wanted, SAV Brave, Dameron First Class, SAV Brilliance, BC Lookout, Conneally Consensus or Silverias Style. It all depends on what kind of cattle you like, everyone of these could have a great calf. SAV Brave had some really nice calfs in the Champion Hill Sale this year.

You might look into Silveiras Style, I have seen three calves from him that were out of cows a lot lower quality than your momma cow, they all looked very good.  Just another one to add to your search list, but I would still reccomend doing what you did your first two years, unless you want to go clubby.

SAV Brilliance would be a very good option.  But if she throws them pretty anyways and you want power Net Worth is one of the more consistent power producers that work in industry and showring.

Well we went with Upgrade and Lut and are pleased with the calves we have on the ground. This is one of the Upgrade heifers, we feel that she will make a tremendous cow. We flushed her again this spring to Chopper and got 21 eggs and we are setting her up again for a flush to a yet to be determined bull (rereading this thread is helping the search <beer> ) Thanks for all of the help!
