Here is an 11 year old pb angus cow we bred and raised. We are planning on flushing her this spring before its too late. We are wanting to flush her MATERNAL (aka no heat wave). We plan to keep every single heifer to increase our foundation for the future, but we don't want the steer calves to be stock yard calves either! she is due in jan to Maximus. We have considered Meyer 734, Who Made Who, Simple Math, Haberno, alias, yellow jacket, point taken, and Full Flush. but we worry about the bull calves with some of those. Who would you guys flush her too if she was yours? (she is 11 in the pics too)

I like it. good idea, I will wait and see how the first flush goes. If I would get 18-20 eggs, 2nd flush might wait a little bit ;D also tossed around the idea of Mossy Oak

Keep in mind what the bloodlines of the bulls you will be using on her daughters. There are tons of Heatwave sons and a bunch of those are out of Who daughters. So I take him of the list just so you don't double up on Who made Who. I like Meyer 734, Habanero, and Flush on your list and I do love my Mossy Oak daughters.

Ali has been working darn good on the cow side of Monopoly and MAB calves. The clone ali 2 works just as good.

I'm wondering why more aren't interested in the proven females behind I DA MAN, MADE TO ORDER (M2O), and AFFLICTION this season.  I DA MAN is a full sib to the Bridwell's "Kelly", who is the dam of M2O.  M2O is a Monopoly while Affliction is a Whiskey.  Don't know if those would work on your female, just thinking aloud I guess as to why these don't come up in these conversations.  Perhaps because they are unproven, young bulls, but the female lines behind them are so strong they seem like a no-brainer to me.

It always makes sense to me that the female is just as important behind the bull if you are trying to make females....

Drl, thanks for the suggestion! In fact, we have two females out of her and Ali, and we love them! We just some females out of another bull as well! Crystal Creek, thank you for you suggestions as well. But I am looking for proven bulls. I also stated no heat wave ( made to order goes back to heat wave), and I didnt put anything with Irish Whiskey because we have had a few IW daughters,. they through great calves but never really milked up to our standards so we called them for that reason alone. But the bulls we listed like wmw, haberno, full flush, meyer are bulls thats are old school that a lot of people dont remember but their  females helped make this industry. we are looking for an old school flush on her.. each of the three bulls you listed doesnt even have females in production. As far as proven goes with this industry, if we trusted genetics 100% on proven, bulls like MAB would be out of Harietta instead and lautners wouldnt have to buy 30 buys a year to find one real good one. Like I said I appreciate your suggestions, i shouldve explained myself more on wanting to be old school. Each of the three bulls you suggested definately have their place in the industry but arent exactly the vision I have for my program

Foreplay - no one seems to mention him but might be a consideration - cow might need to be a bit more angular and he like Flush would help that -

I really like that cow! I love the thought of Meyer on her.If I may suggest to look on the Charolais side. The one that stick out in my head would be fire water. Makes great females and might give you a cool chromed up offspring or Wyoming wind might be in the suggestion box.

I know this is left field as to what you have had but limousin. Something like a duece, xyloid. Think on that cow you'd be looking at some killer lim-flex cattle.

you have a PB angus, and you want to keep daughters as replacements.....why not stay Angus?

The very best of the clubbies are built on Angus foundations for soundness (and black hide lol)
If this is the foundation of your herd, stay strong footed and breed the replacement heifers clubby.

Other than that-- I like the Firewater suggestion for flair, staying sound, and over all design.
For hairy buggers-- MAB, or a strong hi% Maine.

Too clubby and you will lose the amazing predictability we all love in the Angus cows (and that may not be what you would want in replacement heifers)

you need to stick with the maine cattle based bulls to get the good half blood angus % maine females. Do not put firewater on that angus cow. It won't work. We raise some charolais and firewater has not done much in regard to crossing for anyone that I know of. They are either slick haired, hard ribbed, or rat tailed when you cross him. I am not against someone using char bulls but there really are better choices for what your wanting to do.
