My son has 1 of 3 steers that bloats after treating with fly spray.  I thought at first that it was coincidence--  but have no doubt that he bloats only after sprayed with fly spray.

First tried a permethrin and then switched to a prolate spray--  same results with both--  spray on Monday and will be bloating Tuesday and Wednesday.  Flys are bad this year--  anybody have any ideas how to control flys without fly spray.

Really don't want to keep switching fly sprays ( might find the one that kills him).

Any ideas appreciated--  thanks in advance and have a good one

OK - spray the calf with water (using the same type of bottle as with the fly spray) if the calf sttill bloats it is something associated with the spray and not the insecticide

Some of the pour on fly stuff works pretty well but it is to be used weekly or every 2 weeks

People say Avon skin so soft (I think) is good to keep the flies away but I couldn't stand the smell

Kleen Sheen and vinegar - watch the flies drop dead as you spray them (and the critter) with it after rinsing and before blow out.
