NuFlor is also good for hoof  rot.  Also, our vet gave our calves an implant that will give him three dosages over a certain period of time.  Sorry, at this time I don't know the name.  I will have to dig out my receipt.  Don't let the problem linger because it could end up moving up into the joints.

Last year I had a cow come down with foot rot.  The hoof trimmer happened to be there and scraped much of the rotten tissue off.  Then I had a gallon jug of a green anti fungal liquid that I picked up at the farm store for ring worm.  It also mentioned foot rot on the label.  I treated her with an antibiotic injection 1x, and sprayed her hoof am and pm each day when we brought her in the barn to feed her until she quit limping on it and it cleared up.  Sprayed for at least a week.  It worked and was easy as I put it in a spray bottle and generously sprayed her foot.

With the kopertox, we applied it daily until the the hoof healed, it does not take much. Once the hoof is healed we treated the hoof once a week during the wet period, to avoid recurrence. (we applied it in the split of the hoof after they where rinsed but still in the wash rack), stuff smells awful, i could smell it 100 foot from the barn whenever they applied it to the hoof.

It dose sting a little so be prepaired for them to jump or kick when you apply it.

we have been using a formalydahyde solution 9 parts water, to one part forma...

I gets old with the foot soak, and they don't like the burn- so I've started doing a foot trim, and then pure straight formald. on it.
